Enhanced Capital Allowance

Enhanced Capital Allowances

In 2001 the Government introduced the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) to reward businesses that invest in energy-saving equipment.

This scheme enables a business to offset the whole of its capital spending on qualifying equipment, against its taxable profits within the same financial year the investment is made.

Many of the latest air-conditioning systems incorporate both energy-efficient ‘inverter’ and ‘heat-pump’ technologies, and in turn qualify for this attractive tax allowance.

The Enhanced Capital Allowance is not only awarded to the cost of the equipment being installed, but also to the costs associated with installing such technology.

This means that the total project cost of installing qualifying systems (to include all associated labour and materials), becomes 100% tax deductible to your business.
